Let’s have a little look into why this recipe rocks:

Oats

Oats are a fantastic source of complex carbohydrates, providing sustained energy throughout the morning. They are rich in beta-glucan, a type of soluble fibre that helps lower cholesterol levels, supports heart health, and improves digestive function! We love keeping our guts happy, healthy and regular… if you know what I mean...

Milk of Choice

Whether you choose dairy or a plant-based alternative, milk adds valuable nutrients to your oats. Cow’s milk is a great source of calcium, protein, and vitamin D, essential for bone health and muscle function. If you prefer a dairy-free option, choose a calcium-fortified variety to help keep your bones strong and healthy!

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are tiny nutritional powerhouses packed with fibre, aiding in digestion and helping you feel full longer. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein and antioxidants, they’re your besties when it comes to heart health, inflammation reduction, and overall cell damage reduction.

Strawberries

Strawberries are more than just a juicy delight; they're nutritional gems! Packed with vitamin C, these berries boost your immune system and keep your skin glowing. They're also loaded with fibre, aiding in digestion and helping you feel full longer. Plus, strawberries are rich in antioxidants, which combat free radicals and reduce the risk of chronic diseases, making them a delicious way to support your overall well-being.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt is an excellent source of protein, which is crucial for muscle repair and growth. It also contains probiotics that promote a healthy gut microbiome, which is important for digestion and immune function. Additionally, Greek yogurt Is typically lower in sugar, contains no added flavours and colours compared to regular yogurt, making it a healthier choice.

Sunflower Seeds

Bursting with healthy fats, protein, and vitamins, they’re especially rich in vitamin E, a superstar antioxidant. These seeds also pack a punch with essential minerals like magnesium and selenium, supporting everything from your thyroid, immune health and metabolism. Snack on these little gems for a crunchy, nutritious boost!

Granola

Granola brings a delightful crunch and a burst of extra nutrients to your oats. With the right ingredients, it adds fibre, healthy fats, and vitamins. I love making my own granola, but there are plenty of great store-bought options too! When buying, look for varieties without added sugars, fats, or additives—just wholesome ingredients like whole grains, nuts, and seeds.

Honey

Honey is nature's sweet gift, adding a touch of sweetness to your morning oats! Not only does it taste delish, but it also brings trace amounts of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to the table. It's a way better alternative to refined sugars, giving you a natural energy boost.

What I love most about oats is their versatility—you can keep it simple or go all out! Craving chocolate? Add a dash of cocoa powder for a healthy, chocolaty twist. Feeling fancy? Create an apple pie version with fresh apples and cinnamon.
No matter how you enjoy your morning oats, this recipe is a delicious and nutritious way to kick off your day. It's a perfect blend of flavours and essential nutrients that will keep you energized and satisfied, no matter the season!
